All new for 2025 – join us!

Remember the Mayor’s Fitness Challenge, or Spring Into Fitness?

With the support of Amazon, the United Way of Brevard is reimagining this event as the Space Coast Wellness Challenge.

This free six-week challenge is designed to help you and your team get moving, set fitness goals, and participate in fun activities that boost well-being. It’s perfect for groups of all sizes and fitness levels, and there are plenty of ways to stay motivated!

IMPORTANT DATES!
Participant registration: Register BEFORE JANUARY 8 to receive a free t-shirt!
Kickoff event: January 25, 2025, 9 to 11 a.m.
Challenge dates: January 25 through March 7, 2025
Awards ceremony: March 29, 2025

How the challenge works:

The process

Register for the challenge! Use the link at the top of this page. On the registration form, choose the city or organization you’re joining from the dropdown menu.

Anyone age 18 and up who lives in Brevard County, Florida, can participate.

Each person needs an individual email address to submit their minutes each week. (Please do not register two people using one email address.)

Your t-shirt will be available for pick-up at the kickoff event on January 25. If you can’t attend, we will let you know where and when you can pick it up the following week!

Each week you will receive an email from [email protected]. Please whitelist the address!

Track your minutes of activity each week – not steps! It’s every minute that counts. The weekly email will include a link to a form. Click on the link and fill in the required information and your minutes of activity.

This is how your team will advance! The more active participants on each team, the higher your rank. Follow our Facebook page to see a weekly leaderboard of the top teams!

If you miss the deadline to send in your minutes for one week, don’t send them with the following week’s minutes. The activity minutes reset at the beginning of each week.

Do you have activities?

Throughout the challenge our education committee and some teams host activities that are open to everyone. In the past we’ve had community walks, Zumba, beach clean-ups, bike rides, and more! Otherwise, throughout the challenge you’ll track your individual minutes of activity. There’s no gym to join, and this challenge is completely free.

Save the date!

The challenge kickoff is from 9 to 11 a.m. on January 25, 2025, at the brand new Forester Recreation Center, 960 Cogswell Street, in Rockledge. This is where you’ll pick up your t-shirt! Join us for a fun intro to the challenge, refreshments, a couple of group activities, and a chance to win prizes!

What counts as activity minutes?

We count any physical activity such as running, walking, swimming, dancing, working out, lifting weights, biking, inline skating, paddleboarding — anything that gets your heart pumping and your body moving.
